Michael D. Markey, Esq.
From the outset of his career in 1993, Mr. Markey has represented businesses of all sizes in a multitude of industries, including Fortune 500 companies, medium-sized corporations, partnerships, and sole proprietors. His clients have included restaurants, airlines, automobile dealerships, medical professionals, insurance brokers, defense contractors, hospitals, retailers, manufacturers, real estate developers, and financial institutions. Mr. Markey has has served these clients as both a litigator and a counselor, that is, by providing preventative legal advice, analysis, and training.
A native of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Mr. Markey previously practiced with distinguished private firms in the Philadelphia and New York City metropolitan regions before relocating to central Virginia. Additionally, Mr. Markey has served as in-house counsel to a large national retailer based in the New York City metro area. Mr. Markey is admitted to practice law in Virginia, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey. In addition to licensure in these states, he is a member of the bars of the following federal courts: U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, and the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern District of Virginia, Eastern District of Pennsylvania, and District of New Jersey.
Mr. Markey received his Bachelor of Arts (Pre-Law) from the Pennsylvania State University in 1990, and his Juris Doctor, with honors, from Rutgers University School of Law in 1993.
